Maine sucks so badly that I can't even stand it. I wish there was a way out of here. It seems like this place is just part of a vicious circle where people get old enough to concieve, they conceive, and then they live in dumpy little trailers. Please dont let that be me.

I'd just like to reiterate that this state blows hard.

I was just thinking last night that at 12.00 in pretty much anywhere else there's something going on and where, if I want to leave the house, I won't be confined to the seven eleven in brunswick or some scary redneck's house where I'll end up smoking pot and then slipping out the bathroom window.

god, I hate this place.

The Eastland Park Hotel in Portland is in dire need of housekeeping and kitchen staff, we need people willing and able to fill these positions VERY QUICKLY!
The Engineering department is very short staffed.
I've told as many people as I possibly could to at the very least pick up an application and fill it out.

I'm a supervisor there, we're expecting one of our busiest summer seasons yet, if you'd like work then please stop by this week.

WE NEED PEOPLE, BADLY!

I made this community for Mainers to vent their frustrations about life here, the economy (or lack thereof) not so individuals can hen-peck eachother in here.

It seems in my post about ignorant pedestrians I was mis-informed about a statistic, I do apologise for posting false information.
I still, however, feel the law needs to be repealed: Jaywalking is a crime in the other states for a good reason.

HOWEVER:
If you're going to be outright rude and talk down to someone here for bad grammar or erroneous info, you will get only one warning from me.
If you DID post bad info here, please don't hesitate to correct yourself.

Reason being, I don't want this place to be host to any vicious arguments. This is a Discussion Community, not an arena!

I just banned someone this morning, I hope it's only ban from maine_sucks I'll ever have to do.

As you know, my landlord died back in late September.

Now the apartment building is up for sale, and a broker has been taking people in to tour the building to see who'll buy it.
So far my boyfriend and I are paying $850 + utilities for our 2 bedroom apartment.
As far as we know, the person who has expressed interest in purchasing the property wants to up it to $1,200 a month!
Not to sound angry, but I am not paying that much money to rent an apartment that needs a new front door, new pipes, new wiring and so forth! FUCK YOU, YOU GREEDY YUPPIE CUNTS! I work 2 jobs and I have to steal food!

So, yet again, is anyone interested in purchasing property in Portland? $900 is reasonable for me and we don't want to have to move.

Oh, great, another winter season truly starts up here in Maine. We also can look forward to parking bans! Who's ready to move somewhere warmer, like say...Hell?

What's weird about this is there was a sign up sheet for volunteers at my work two weeks prior for people who wanted to help out for this.
I signed it and left my number, but I had a bad feeling about responding for some reason.

My landlord died over the weekend, and not only is our building in need of one-or-two (no really, ONLY one or two things...) repairs, but none of us living here want our rent to go up OR to be evicted.
