Maine sucks so badly that I can't even stand it. I wish there was a way out of here. It seems like this place is just part of a vicious circle where people get old enough to concieve, they conceive, and then they live in dumpy little trailers. Please dont let that be me.

Either dumpy little trailers or on the streets of Portland, Bangor or Lewiston.

Sad but usually true.

I suppose it could be worse... for instance, everyone could be inbred.

I know the feeling. Keep trying. I recently managed to move to California for a year as part of the exchange program. If you're in college, you may want to look into that. This state is the anti-maine.

Ironically, I moved here from California. I divide my time bewteen here and there, cause I havne't decided which is worse-being raped for rest, or being bored for the rest of my life.

What part of California are you from?

*meant to say what part of california are you staying at.

Southern california, Glendora to be exact. As for being raped on cost of living, I find it about on par with maine, at least the portland area of maine. And you get a lot more for the rent in southern california than in portland. Gas prices and sales tax are higher in CA, but with the gas you don't have to drive 20+ miles to get anywhere, so in the end it's cheaper every day, with the exception of taking long trips somewhere.

This si true. Its funny cause even through its less of a distance, it takes just as long to get somewhere in CA because of the traffic. Here its a longer distance, but not as much of the traffic-at least where I am. I'm in the Bangor area. Or rather, just outside the Bangor area. In anycase, I hope you're havinga blast!

Do you have a lot of family out here?

I haven't had too much of a problem with traffic yet. When I go to class I'll be commuting in the opposite direction of the LA traffic, so it hopefully won't be too much of a problem. I've found so far that I can get places a lot faster than maine because there are highways to go everywhere. Not little two lane roads with low speed limits and elderly drivers in front who go 10 under, with no way to pass them. I have no family in maine, no. Most of my relatives live in the midwest, and some also live out here in CA.
